Thoracentes, Inc. (hereinafter referred to as “our company”) establishes the privacy policy as follows and complies with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, privacy guidelines, etc., and other related laws and regulations concerning privacy to ensure the protection of personal information.


1 Personal information

Personal information refers to information about customers, including their name, address, telephone number, e-mail address, and other descriptions, through which they can be identified.

Personal information also includes information that cannot be used alone to identify customers but can be easily collated with other information to identify customers.

2 Purposes of using personal information

The purposes of using personal information are as follows. If the information is used for any purpose other than the following, the purpose of use will be individually notified or publicly announced on a case-by-case basis.

  • Sending materials upon request
  • Supply of devices and services manufactured or provided by our company, and follow-up after the supply

3 Acquisition of personal information

Our company acquires personal information by legal and fair means.   • When we need to cooperate with a national or local government organization or a party entrusted by it to perform duties prescribed by laws or regulations, and obtaining the customer’s consent may interfere with the execution of the duties
  • When disclosure or provision is permitted by laws and regulations

5 Management of personal information

Our company may outsource all or part of the handling of personal information within the scope necessary for the purpose of use. In this case, our company will ensure necessary and appropriate supervision of outsourcees, by stipulating obligations in the contract, etc., so that personal information will be protected to an extent equivalent to handling in our company.

To ensure rigorous privacy protection, our company shall take necessary and appropriate organizational, physical, and technical measures; establish the internal privacy protection control procedures; and follow these strict rules when handling and using private information.

6 Acquisition of personal information using a method by which a person cannot be easily identified

Our company may use cookies and web beacons and collect information such as the user’s IP address, number of accesses, browser used, and OS and other device information for the purpose of providing optimal services and improving convenience to users.

If users prefer to disable cookies, this can be done by configuring the web browser to reject cookies. However, if users choose to reject cookies, they may not be able to receive our company services, etc.

7 Disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, and suspension of use of personal information

Customers can request disclosure, correction, addition, deletion, or suspension of use of their registered personal information (hereinafter referred to as “change, etc. of personal information”). In such a case, we will respond in accordance with the Act on the Protection of Personal Information, other laws and regulations, and the method prescribed by our company.
